지난 1년간 우리는 Bambu Lab의 컬러 시스템 성공을 모방하려는 많은 3D 프린터를 보아왔다. P1P 콤보(그리고 후속 모델인 P1S 콤보)는 여전히 최고의 3D 프린터 중 하나이며, 지금까지 경쟁자가 거의 없었다. 속도, 품질, 색상 시스템의 조합은 대부분 제조사에게는 꿈같은 이야기였지만, 2025년 초 여러 회사가 본격적으로 도전에 나섰다.

Anycubic은 오랜 시간 저가형 3D 프린터를 제작해왔으며, 컬러 시스템 시장에서 Bambu Lab과 경쟁하는 것은 자연스러운 수순이었다. 그 첫 시도였던 Kobra 3는 무난했지만, S1 Combo는 Bambu Lab의 P1S에 정면으로 도전하는 제품이며, 놀라울 만큼 훌륭하다. 이 시장에서 오랜 시간 독주하던 Bambu Lab에 당당히 맞설 수 있는 수준이다.

S1은 P1S와 마찬가지로 Core XY 3D 프린터이다. Core XY 방식은 프린트 베드가 위아래로 움직이고 노즐은 같은 평면에 머물기 때문에 안정성이 높고 진동 문제가 줄어든다. 특히 컬러 시스템과 잘 어울리며, 밀폐형 구조에 상단에 색상 모듈(Anycubic에서는 ACE라고 부름)을 설치할 수 있어 공간 효율이 뛰어나다. S1은 유리 대신 플라스틱 도어와 뚜껑을 사용해 다소 소음은 있으나 기기 무게가 가볍다는 장점이 있다.

진짜 차이를 만드는 건 4.3인치 대형 LCD 패널이다. P1P/P1S는 조작계가 작고 조작이 불편한데 비해, S1은 크고 직관적이다. Bambu Lab의 고급 모델인 X1 Carbon의 디스플레이와 유사하다. 또한 MicroSD 카드 대신 USB 메모리를 사용하며, Wi-Fi로 파일 전송 시 내부 저장소에도 자동 저장되기 때문에 반복 출력이 편하다.

Kobra 3에 비해 월등한 향상이며, 냉각 성능도 뛰어났다.

TPU, ABS, PETG 모두 출력 테스트했으며, 폐쇄형 구조로 인해 ABS와 같은 고온 재료도 문제없이 출력됐다. PLA는 뚜껑을 열고 출력하면 더 좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있다. TPU는 튜브의 길이와 유연성 문제로 약간의 어려움이 있었지만,

전체적으로 S1은 인상적인 성능을 보였다.

컬러 시스템은 향후 3D 프린터 시장의 핵심 기능이 될 것이다. Anycubic의 ACE 모듈은 기본적인 기능에 충실하며, 일부 소재 투입구는 마모 가능성이 있지만 교체 가능하다. 컬러 출력물은 매우 훌륭하며, 컬러 전환 과정의 폐기물도 적절히 정리되어 있어 인상 깊다.

다만 모든 컬러 시스템 프린터와 마찬가지로 출력 중 발생하는 ‘프린터 폐기물’이 문제다.

Anycubic Slicer는 Bambu, Orca, Prusa 슬라이서를 기반으로 하지만, 정제 설정 등 중요한 기능이 빠져있어 출력 폐기물을 줄이기 어렵다.

앱 역시 Kobra 3와 동일하며, 광고가 많고 품질이 낮아 아쉽다.

전반적으로 Anycubic S1의 사용 경험은 긍정적이다.

애니큐빅 코브라 S1은 P1S보다 저렴하며, 대부분의 기능에서 대등하거나 우수하다.

소프트웨어만 다듬으면 매우 경쟁력 있는 제품이며, Core XY 방식과 컬러 시스템을 원하는

For years, Bambu Lab’s color system has gone unchallenged in the desktop 3D printing space, setting the standard with its P1P and P1S combo printers. But that may be about to change. Anycubic, a long-standing player in the budget 3D printer segment, has finally introduced a true competitor—the Anycubic S1 Combo.

With a CNET score of 8.5/10, the S1 Combo is being recognized for its excellent print quality, enclosed Core XY design, and user-friendly features—all at a more accessible price point.

A True Core XY Contender

Like the P1S, the Anycubic S1 is based on the Core XY architecture, providing a stable, vibration-resistant platform ideal for multicolor printing. The S1 distinguishes itself with a lightweight plastic enclosure instead of glass, reducing overall weight while slightly increasing noise levels.

Testing showed impressive results across a range of materials including PLA, PETG, ABS, and TPU. While TPU presented minor challenges due to the flexible tubing, the printer’s enclosure ensured consistent quality, particularly with PLA and PETG.
